In a period of rapid change in news consumption patterns and ongoing debate about the role of public service media (PSM) we wanted to find out what impact people think PSM news – whether on TV, on radio, or online – has on national life. This just one dimension of how people think about news from public service media organisations, and just one aspect of their remits, but is important given the prominence that PSM news has in many media systems across the world.
